Q: What makes Organize Within (formerly Lake Michigan Organizing) different than other organizing and productivity companies?
While other organizing services can do a great job coming in and organizing rooms or de-clutter a home, a large percentage of the time the client is unable to maintain it. I approach working with the client on a more holistic or comprehensive plane. I do an in-depth analysis of past & present personal and environment struggles that may be causing them to be stuck in a cycle which keeps them overwhelmed.  We start to peel back the layers using my REVEAL Methodology. This will start them down a path of transformation so that they may use the information and tools learned to help them sustain their daily lifestyle, home or business environments. 

Q: Do you offer short & long term service?
Yes. I do offer a limited a la carte service at a higher rate. I also have a shorter 12+hour Fresh Start Package that will walk you through a 5-step process. The longer REVEAL process is more of an intensive package of 28+ hours depending upon the needs of the client. This is has the best return on investment in regards to time and money as you are being coached and learning tools, methods and processes that will help you sustain your lifestyle, home or business long after I leave. These package comes with a set of on-going coaching/consulting services - time is dependent upon what the scope of the service is. 

Q: What will a Professional Organizer do that I can't do myself? 
Many organizers have high executive functioning skills.  Working memory and cognitive flexibility are two of the skills that help us utilize problem solving, thinking on your feet and looking at things from a different perspective. Many people who struggle with chronic disorganization may have higher skills in other areas, but this area is lower not allowing them to follow through on tasks, stay focused, organize or plan.  Inhibitory control is another skill under this executive function. Basically, it helps with strong self control. If you have a tendency to over-acquire or impulse buy this is an area we can  help you with by setting up different ways to stay away from triggers or using lists or creative ways to re-focus.  

Q: Who benefits from your service?
Anyone who feels so overwhelmed and unorganized that it is affecting their health and stress level. If it stifles your creativity or you can't accomplish anything  in your daily responsibilities, lifestyle or business.  If you have had a recent life event, have moved or are building I can help with designing a "smart" organized space/home that will fit your family lifestyle and flow.  

Q: How will you ensure my privacy?
Our relationship will be built on trust and respect. Confidentiality and discretion are of the utmost importance for my business. I strictly follow the code of ethics endorsed by the National Association of Professional Organizers, Institute for Challenging Disorganization and The International Concierge and Lifestyle Management Network.

Q: Do you work with clients over the phone?

Our initial contact will most likely be over the phone, but in many cases before I start working with a client I like to meet and consult with them in person.  I offer a one hour free initial consultation on the phone and a $45 flat fee for an in-depth home/business tour and assessment. 

Q: How do you charge for your services?

I charge by the hour and/or you can purchase one the package options. I have a 12+hour Fresh Start Package and 28+ hour Intensive Packages. Please contact me so that we can discuss what would be right for you. The larger packages tend to be at a lower hourly rate. I accept payment by check, Pay-pal and credit card (there will be a processing fee with both Pay-pal and credit cards).

Q: Is your company bonded and insured?
Yes, I am bonded and insured.

Q: What if I need to cancel a service?  
36 hour notice of cancellation is required or the standard hourly rate will be billed to the client.
